The release also includes numerous fixes and minor improvements. Valentina Studio for Windows, macOS and Linux is licensed but free. Valentina Studio UNIVERSAL is a single license that works on all three operating systems and licensed on a user basis. Volume and academic discounts are also available.

Valentina Server 17.5.1

Valentina Server is a powerful platform for building network or cloud based client-server or server-only solutions. Valentina Server includes three built in database servers: ValentinaDB Server, Valentina SQLite Server and Valentina DuckDB Server. With support for both internal data sources as well as external data sources (including MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MongoDB and more), it also includes two other servers that can leverage all supported data sources. These include:

  • Valentina Reports Server. Serve visually compelling reports with charts, graphs, bar/QR codes, images and more from the supported data sources as images, html or PDF. Deliver them using the built in email services and scheduler. You can allow customers to view them on a network using the free Report Viewer. Reports support two scripting systems: Python and JavaScript.
  • Valentina Forms Server. Serve custom, visual forms (similar to Microsoft® Access or Claris® FileMaker Pro) from Valentina Server (on macOS, Windows or Linux) to anyone using the free form hosting system built into free Valentina Studio.

Improvements in Valentina Server 17.5.1 include:

  • [New] Added server INI settings for user extension folders: Extensions_VDB, Extensions_DuckDB, and Extensions_SQLite. Default folders are extensions_vdb, extensions_duckdb, and extensions_sqlite. Valentina Server creates these folders automatically at startup if they do not exist. Relative paths are created relative to the Valentina Server application folder. Absolute paths can point outside the Valentina Server folder and are created as specified, if the server process has permission. These folders are intended for user-installed extensions. ValentinaDB system extensions remain in the vcomponents folder. DuckDB Server now installs extensions in the Extensions_DuckDB folder, when you use INSTALL command. Additionally, for DuckDB, there are `DuckDBHomeFolder`, `DuckDBSecretFolder` and DuckDBTempFolder` INI variables for DuckDB home-folder, secret-folder, and temp-folder respectfully. For SQLite, Extensions_SQLite is a convenience folder setting. When loading SQLite extensions, the full extension path still must be specified.

Valentina Server is available as a standalone product or as an OEM solution for solution providers. You can use Valentina Server with five simultaneous connections for free on macOS, Windows and Linux. Standalone, commercial versions start at $299. Valentina Developer Network lets system integrators and solution providers deploy copies of Valentina Server to their customers royalty free and starts at $599.
